Ruby is full of bright ideas. One day, she finds some old boards and decides to build a fort. She tries to get her brothers to help, but they tell her she has no idea how to build a fort and pass by helping her. Ruby is determined to build her fort so she learns how to. At every step of the building process, she asks her brother for help, who laughs and passes on helping Ruby. In the end, the fort she creates is amazing. But Ruby ends up playing in it by herself since her brothers did not want to help. Her brothers are disappointed that they cannot play in the fort, so they set out to buy items for the fort to show Ruby they care. Will it be enough to get an invitation to play in the fort?
