A baby bat named Stellaluna accidentally ends up in a bird's nest. The birds decide to raise Stellaluna as their own. They teach her the way of the birds. When Stellaluna reunites with her mother, she is reintroduced to the ways of the fruit bats. Stellaluna can use both the ways of the bird and fruit bats. Doing so allows Stellaluna to appreciate the differences between the species and her new friends.
